welcome

Welcome to the land of Clootielugs where squirrels, rabbits and their like rule the roost. I love to make and sew and find inspiration from many sources although nature in its many forms tends to be the thing that fires my imagination most often!

You can see and purchase many of my creations on Folksy:

I've been hard at work making drawings for my latest makings....and I've had such fun! See what you think...

I thought and thought about how to best use the image and have recently been loving candlelight and came up with the idea to simply print the image on unbleached cotton and make slip-covers for jam-jars to be used with tealights.

I've also used them over bought tumbler candle glasses. The end result is gorgeous- much better than I imagined! The light filters through the cotton beautifully creating a soft warm light and bringing the images to life. I've got loads more ideas for these, and will soon be making up sets based around themes...keep watching this space!
The covers can be tied with cotton thread to a wire handle wound around the neck of a jam-jar for the purpose of hanging. These look amazing hung in trees in the garden.....

or used as a night-light in a child's room if an LED tealight is used in place of a real flame candle. Please!! NEVER leave a burning candle unattended particularly not in a childs room!! Just have to state the obvious for my own peace of mind!

Been working hard today making 6 lavender moles for an order from a friend!
When people say "what you been up to today?" and I answer "Making lavender moles," I see the strange look in their eye...is it any wonder?
